This track, originally written around my personal childhood haiku:
"I'll feel the pain now,
But I won't feel it later,
And later will come,"
is a song I dedicated to my sweet Sam. It is a song for anyone who feels like they're in a jam and serves as a reminder that all things in life will eventually wash away.
lyrics
Like a rolling stone you had a bad day,
You lost your home, no place to stay,
You’ll clean up the river bed ‘til your feet get numb,
Just remember, you’ll feel the pain now,
But you won’t feel it later,
And later will come.
And it’ll wash away,
And it’ll wash away,
And it’ll wash away-ay,
Stand!
And the trees overtake the pivots and levers,
Nothing lasts forever,
That’s when we hear the boom, boom, boom, boom,
Nature’s taking cities away,
Telling us to give and live a little,
Remember all the castles we build…
Will wash away,
Will wash away,
Will wash away-ay,
Stand!
And it’ll wash away,
And it’ll wash away,
And it’ll wash away-ay,
And it’ll wash away,
Stand!
